The Fishery. |
| The fishery consists of three well stocked pools,
totalling some eleven acres of water. There are also 4 luxury self catering lodges
on the site, which provide that ideal base for the quiet break away from it all
!
Clubs, Corporate days and tuition are all accommodated at Kingennie. |
Stocking PolicyThe three pools at Kingennie are all stocked twice weekly. The "specimen " pool is stocked with Rainbows & Browns from 3lbs to double figures (135 doubles from the pool in 2000!!). The "bankside" pool is stocked with Rainbows, Browns, Blues, Goldies and Brook Trout averaging 2lb to 8lbs (Record 11lbs 6oz). Lastly the "Woodside" Pool (any method) is stocked soley with Rainbows averaging 1 to 3lbs (Record 7lb 8oz). |
Kingennie Fishings centres around the "Old Boathouse"
which has been converted into our reception and tackle shop. The shop stocks many
brand names including Fulling Mill Ltd, Bob Church & Co. Ltd, Crystal River
Ltd, Leeda, Wychwood, Luredash and Sharpes of Aberdeen. We also sell confectionery
and hot snacks & coffee / tea etc. Tuition is organised with the manager,
who stays on site. |

Fishing TacticsThese vary with the time of year and water clarity. The specimen pool generally responds to lures such as the Black Fritz, Bunny Leech and Goldhead Damsel. Bankside is an excellent Buzzer water and evening dry fly sport is excellent. Woodside, being any method, responds to all baits particularly Sweet Corn ! |

How to get Here. Follow all routes to Dundee then leave on A92 - signposted for Arbroath, continue
for nearly three miles then turn left prior to reaching the new Dobbies Garden
Centre complex, following the brown signs for 'Forbes of Kingennie' where a warm
welcome awaits
