Glensherrup Trout Fishery |
The Fishery. |
| This Crystal clear picturesque reservoir of 30 acres sits amidst
the beauty of the Ochil Hills, just 2 minutes from it's sister fishery Lower
Frandy. Depths vary from30ft to the shallower areas at the inlet burn down to
3 or 4 ft. Glensherrup is a working reservoir first built in the early 1900s.
The fishery is flanked on one side by a very impressive forest and on the other
by heather & bracken. The first thing to impress visitors is the clarity of the water. There are 10 boats available, ample bank fishing and an area for any method of fishing or Pike fishing. |
StockingGlensherrup is stocked on a weekly basis with quality hard fighting Rainbows averaging 2 lbs. It is also stocked with larger specimens into double figures.Best Rainbow for 2000 season 9lb 14oz. Fishery Record 16lb 4oz. |
Facilities.There is a comfortable Anglers Lodge with refreshments for sale including, Tea, Coffee, Hot & Cold snacks. There are toilet and car parking facilities. Fishing advice and other informationBest flies are Gold Head Damsels, however local anglers say
that it is a superb Buzzer water from late April on, with Dry fly including Daddies
from late June to October. Season Tickets for 2005 prices on request.

How to get Here.Off the A9 Glasgow to Perth Motorway, take the Gleneagles Hotel turn off, Turn right along the A823, go about 4 miles and you will see the Fishery Sign on your right hand side about 1 mile past Lower Frandy Fishery entrance.Glensherrup Trout Fishery |
